Love the new bearded enclosure. You gave me some ideas I'm gonna do a 4x2x2 enclosure I was gonna do tile on the bottom but I like the look of that clay. How's the poo 💩 clean up?

I am so happy he is okay, watching his video when he was sick killed me and I actually cried, my Drogan she was A rescue from a bad situation (she is in my photo with me) she died last year and she went through the same, I couldn't get her to a vet fast enough because it was late at night and she died after about an hour of the seizing, the same happened with my Spiro also late at night, (another rescue with MBD) Spiro was a hospice case abused by a previous owner😩 and he was expected to die rather quickly, I just had to keep him comfy until he left us.. but he seemed to get better and I got my hopes up, thinking Maybe I saved him.. I did not.. also I believe the plant you didn't have a name for is a Haworthia, or could be another form of aloe the 2 are very similar but the Haworthia has more of a zebra strip as the Aloe of this shape has more straight lines, but I couldn't see it well enough to ID it properly.

I saw this trick on a video from Animal1 Guy to make your beardie eat and enjoy his veggies, put some bee pollen on them! Just wet the leaves and sprinkle bee pollen on top, and apparently they love it! Because it smells and tastes like bugs

My beardies are coming out of their brumation as of yesterday. We did a "spring cleaning" on their tanks when I saw they were awake. One of them is shedding, too. I am curious though and maybe you can make a video about it, but what all do you feed Despacito other than varying between roaches and veggies? I've never seen anyone feed them tomatoes. I feed mine kale, collard greens, blueberries, and strawberries along with dubia roaches or superworms (depends on which one we can get easily at the time). Horned worms we give them during Halloween through Christmas as "treats." In the Spring, we harvest dandelions (just the heads) and wash them before giving them to the dragons. They love it, too. Not too many though, usually once or twice a day we give them one or 2 dandelion heads. I love the idea of using excavator clay! Right now, we use rubber mats - same kind people use to line utensil drawers - because it's an easy wipe down to spot clean or just replace them when needed. The exotic vet we take them to once a year (before brumation to make sure they're good) suggested it since repti-carpet highly discouraged. Also, just out of curiosity, why do you not have a water dish in Despacito's enclosure? Our vet drew us a simplistic set up design... one side warm for basking, opposite side kept cool/room temp, and in the middle a large water dish, big enough so they can drink and even soak in. I love seeing different types of bearded dragon enclosures 🥰

Those plants both look like succulents (definitely the aloe vera). You can basically abuse them and they'll still thrive. As long as you don't water them too often and leave them in a super humid area

Also petko! I recently found out that bee pollen is a great way to get your dragon to eat their greens! You just sprinkle a bit on and they will eat it as if it's a roach!

Try giving despacito some spinach

I wouldn't feed him tomatoes. A vet once told me they can't digest them properly and the enzymes aren't that good for them + they're too acidic. It could be that he poops calcium rocks from it. All the best to you, beautiful enclosure :)

You should try and get hold of be pollen and add it to his veggies you should find that he eats more then :) you just wet the veggies abut then sprinkle it on :) they love it xx

try giving the dragon shredded butternut squash if he doesn't like to eat veggies that's how I started getting my rescues to eat veggies and also I'm not positive but I don't think tomatoes are good for dragons due to the acidity

Are roaches like “junk food” for bearded dragons?

It's normal for succulents to not do well with uv light alone, so it might be your succulents are not getting enough direct sunglight or are getting light at the wrong time of the day. You might also either over-water or underwater them, succulents need water only once every 2 weeks and when you water them it should be in a huge quantity ( like how in the desert it rains rarely but when it does it pours). I don't know much about aloe vera care but the other one is a species of hawortia and I do have a haworthia of my own, and while they are plants that can live their whole life inside they still need a ton of natural sunlight

Despacito is adorable but Felix is still my favorite! Also, I hope he saw he dropped a clay ball in the enclosure.

Way cool setup, very nice! If Despacito hasn't peed and pooped by now please consider giving him a warm bath. Usually the first thing a reptile needs after they wake up from brumation is potty time. Same as you and me getting up first thing in the morning, but a whole lot more intense. I do not mean this advice as a way to say you aren't already doing a great job taking care of Despacito. He, like all your animals, is clearly being given ample love and attention as well as top-notch care. Great job, keep up the good work with your excellent videos! If you can get them, they love to eat cactus pads. You can add prickly pear cactus to the enclosure and they will devour them.

My bearded dragon was picky about veggies too. He liked turnip greens and spinach but hated everything else

Observing beardies in the wild.. You learn their diet actually stays about 50- 70% insects their entire lives. The 20-80 heavy veggie diet is to promote "healthier" dragons but in all honesty they get huge in the wild and continue to eat atleast a 50/50 diet their entire lives.. So when they don't wana eat the veggies its ok

And will eat any kind of fruit, vegetable when b pollon is on them.. he rescues lizards,and some of them never have eaten any fruit or vegetables and now love them with the b pollen.. please try...

You could probably, at this point, forego the glass on Desposito's enclosure. Lol. I don't think he has a way down and he's smart enough not to jump 5 feet to the floor. lol

Glad to see your buddy is doing well!! Might need a couple more "ramps" to get up to the top log though. Aloe Vera does take a little maintenance, as they grow and dry, you want to clip the tips of the aloe so it isn't too sharp at the tips

if you want to give him some healthy stuff i recommend blueberry which they cant have all the time and also okra. they can also eat some peppers like green peppers but gotta make sure they're cut up a bit. same with yellow and red peppers.

You could put a snake in the space below him or some crested geckos

Be careful feeding your bearded Dragon tomatoes. It has a lot of oxalic in it. And that makes it harder for your bearded Dragon to absorb calcium. I wouldn't recommend giving it at all. There are other veggies that are a lot better to give. :)

I am a day late but I am enjoying watching the new final Dark Den evolve it's a lovely space and the Viv's are top notch , I look forward to seeing what you do with the rest of the space .

@The Dark Den the smooth surface you had before doing all of this was really ideal in regards to keeping bacteria down from feces etc. With this clay it is going to absorb it all and you will have to CONSTANTLY/DAILY remove sections where there are feces. With a smooth surface like you had, or even tile which is preferred you can spray it with the proper chemicals that break down the feces for easy cleaning, such as "Healthy Habitat" spray. Also RESEARCH PLANTS there are not many you can keep in the enclosure with these guys. The last concern with this setup is the risk of IMPACTON due to loose substrate. This can kill the dragon painfully and quickly. You don't want anything loose at all in there.

Aloe vera is not english. That is the scientific name (in latin :) ). The other plant is aloe aristata. Nice enclosure, I am sure your dragon will like it.

Are you sure that the Dragon won’t attempt to eat the plants?

I had my enclosure like this with the excavator clay, it does eventually break down and get dusty. Also if he won’t drink try misting him, that’s how I get mine to drink, he’ll start licking the water and then I put his water dish in front of his and he sticks his face in and starts drinking.

You might have better luck with heavier greens like collard, mustard, or even arugula. Also try dusting with calcium powder. If that fails you can try bee pollen dusting.
